What a unit is
A unit is the measure of AI consumption on Kinetic. Every Copilot action — answering a customer, researching leads, reading your documents — draws units from your wallet. Heavier work (deep research, long document analysis) consumes more than a short chat reply.
Where you see your balance
- Top bar of the Business Centre — the "Units" meter shows used versus limit in real time.
- Wallet panel — detailed balance and recent consumption events.
Topping up
- Open your wallet from the Business Centre top bar.
- Choose a top-up amount and follow the payment flow.
- The new balance reflects immediately once payment confirms.
Low-balance behaviour
When your wallet runs low, a banner appears
in the Business Centre. When it reaches zero, AI actions pause — customer
messages are still received and stored, and they will be answered after
you top up. Nothing is lost while you are paused.
Bring your own keys (BYOK)
If you prefer to pay an AI provider directly, you can supply your own API keys for supported providers instead of using platform keys. Configure them in your tenant settings; your usage then draws against your provider account rather than consuming platform units at platform rates.
